Newton mail app makes surpising return

Five months ago, Rohit Nadhani (co-founder) announced something most Newton users were not expecting. The Newton Mail app would be shutting down on September 25th, 2018. Exactly twenty weeks later Newton Mail App has made a cool comeback.

In December, CloudMagic – the company behind Newton mail – was acquired by Essential. Essential is a “new type of company focused on creating consumer technology products for the 21st century”, such as the “Essential Phone.” Since then, both teams worked hard to bring Newton back to it’s former glory.

So what makes Newton so special? It’s a reliable and versatile email app that gives you access to features like “send later”, “recap” and “read reciepts”. Perhaps it’s biggest perk though, is it’s widespread availability on iOS, Android, Mac, and Windows.

What’s changed with this “new” old app?

 You can now:

  1. delete a single email in a thread.
  2. resize the Mac Compose window.
  3. Add emails to OmniFocus, Things, 2doapp and Bear.
  4. Instert GIFs using the giphy keyboard on iOS and copy and paste Giphy urls inline.

Starting today, Newton Mail is available to download and sign up on your iOS, Android, Mac, and Windows devices. It’s free to use on all your devices in all its goodness for 14 days. After that, it is $49.99 per year. You can choose to subscribe or end your trial after the 14 period is up.
