OnePlus 6T launch event moved to Oct. 29th to avoid ‘overshadowing’ with Apple

With Apple’s unusual announcement about their upcoming event on October 30th, OnePlus, who also had an event scheduled on October 30th, just announced they would be pushing up their OnePlus 6T launch event one day to October 29th at 11 AM. According to a post by CEO Pete Lau, “We know sorry isn’t good enough.” OnePlus felt that they “would be overshadowed by Apple,” and with great reason.

Their sold-out event had over 1,000 tickets sold but are offering refunds to those that can’t make it on the 29th. For those that can make it they are offering to help them by covering travel expenses due to the inconvenience. Anticipation is very high due to the rumors that the OnePlus 6T will come with an in-display fingerprint sensor as well as a very small notch. Let’s see if this was the right move for OnePlus to make and if they receive the attention they were hoping for.
