Samsung Galaxy S9 will be announced on February 25th

Mark your calendars for February 25, 2018. Yes, Samsung has officially confirmed that this will be their next event which will be held ahead of MWC 2018 (Mobile World Conference).

At this latest “Unpacked” event, the company is expected to announce its latest flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S9, as essentially confirmed in invitations sent out the other night. In the invitation we see a large purple “9” on a black background, highlighting the words “The camera. Reimagined.” Though this invitation doesn’t offer many hints or details, it does show that Samsung is focusing in on the S9’s camera.

Some of the other rumors include a design similar to the Galaxy S8, including a big screen and slim bezels. Along with that, the debut of the powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor features like face unlock and a new fingerprint sensor location. Whatever features are officially confirmed at their announcement I would certainly expect Samsung to not hold back as they will want to compete with the likes of the iPhone X and Pixel 2 & Pixel 2 XL.

One thing you can expect is for the rumor mill to pick up pace within the next month leading up to the event. Be sure to stay tuned to YourTechExplained for continuous coverage of the S9 and everything else happening this year at MWC.
