Lenovo’s refreshed ThinkPad T480, T480s, and T580 are designed for business, power, and productivity

For CES 2018, Lenovo announced, among other laptops, a brand new refresh to their T series. These are the T480, T480s, and T580. These three laptops are designed for business, power, and productivity. All three of these have been equipped with 8th Gen Intel Core i7 processors with vPro, but that’s just the start of what they have to offer.

Lenovo ThinkPad T480

This business-focused laptop has been equipped with an Intel Core i7 8th Gen processor, Windows 10 Pro, 32GB RAM, a 256GB SSD, and some sweet Dolby Premium speakers. It also features a 14″ HD TN display that’s sure to serve you through your daily tasks. The T480 packs a ton of ports, including Thunderbolt 3, USB-C, USB 3.0, SD reader, HDMI, ethernet, and even a nano-SIM card. All of this gets fitted into a body that’s just under 20mm thin!

The T480 also offers some nifty features, like a backlight keyboard, Windows Hello with a fingerprint reader, and a ThinkShutter infrared mechanical camera. This laptop will be shipping in January 2018 starting at a price of $989.

Lenovo ThinkPad T480s

Like the T480, the T480s has an 8th Gen Intel Core i7 processor with vPro, Windows 10 Pro, and Dolby Audio. However, things get different with only 24GB of RAM but it boasts a 1TB SDD. All this, and the 14″ IPS display, get power from the 57Wh battery that will give you 13.5 hours of runtime. It also sees a similar set of ports including Thunderbolt 3, USB-C, USB 3.0, SD card reader, 3.5mm audio jack, HDMI, and an ethernet port.

The T480s also includes the new ThinkShutter infrared mechanical camera shutter, fingerprint reader with Windows Hello. You can get one yourself for $1269 starting in January 2018.

Lenovo ThinkPad T580

The Lenovo ThinkPad T580 is, yet again, similar to the other laptops when it comes to specs, so it’s not worth repeating. However, what’s different is that it has 32GB of DDR4 RAM, a 2TB HDD, 27 hours of battery life through a dual battery, a 15″ FHD IPS screen, but it comes at the weigh of 4.34 pounds — certainly not the lightest on the market. The ports of on the T580 are the same as the other two laptops.

The T580 excels by allowing you to be productive while on the go, with a battery that will last you well beyond two days and a screen that allows for multitasking. You can get the T580 starting in January 2018 for $1079.
