Lenovo unveils the Flex 11, a touch screen Chromebook for students
Chromebooks have always been a great way for companies to try different product designs compared to what is typically done for Windows laptops. The new Lenovo Flex 11 certainly fits into that category. With a touch screen and a hinge design that allows the screen to flip completely around, this is a Chromebook designed for the future of Chrome OS.
With the Google Play Store coming soon to Chromebooks, touch screens on Chromebooks are going to be much more in demand, as well as the completely rotatable hinge design. The Flex 11 comes in at 11.6″ inches and is also fairly lightweight, at just under 3lbs.
The Flex 11 is running a 2.10Ghz Quad Core processor, with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. As for ports, there’s HDMI, USB 3.0, USB-C, 3.5mm audio jack, and an SD card slot — definitely suitable for a range of tasks. The battery inside will last for an impressive 10 hours, although that will decrease with a heavy load.
Another nice aspect about the Lenovo Flex 11 is its durable design. It’s drop resistant for falls up to 2.4 feet, has reinforced ports and a water sealed touchpad. Plus, the keyboard can handle liquid spills up to 1 cup, thanks to some channels under the keyboard.
However, the best thing about this Chromebook it’s the affordable price. It goes on sale in April starting at $279, making it affordable for many people, especially students as that is where this machine is marketed.
