Apple’s new Clips app makes it easy to create, edit, and share video on your iPhone
It’s been rumored for months now that Apple has been developing a social media/video editing app of some sort. Today, Apple confirmed this rumor with the announcement of a new video editing app that the company is calling Clips.
Clips is an app that lets users take photos or videos, string them together, edit them, then post or share them on social media. It does this using what appears to be a simple and easy to learn interface that Apple hopes most users will enjoy.
Features such as adding text and graphics are included in the app, but there are a ton of apps out there that can already do these types of things. However, Apple has included some unique features to the Clips app to help it stand out a bit. Perhaps the most interesting of these unique features is called Live Titles. This allows users speech to be turned into text and then overlayed onto the video that they are recording. You can also expect all of the same basic photo and video editing tools that most other apps in the same category include.
The app is likely to grab a lot of users attention as sharing videos on social media is more popular than ever. Unfortunately, users are going to have to wait a little longer before they can start creating unique videos in Clips. The app isn’t going to be available to download until sometime in April. Also, just a side note about that, on Apple’s site it is stated that the app requires at least iOS 10.3 to run ─ meaning that users can also expect to see iOS 10.3 officially launch next month.
