Marshmallow Beta Heading Out To AT&T Galaxy Note 5
As revealed yesterday, Marshmallow’s rollout to Android devices is taking its sweet time (no pun intended). Samsung is a huge component in pushing this update to the majority of Android smartphone users and now it seems they are finally preparing to do so. In both the UK and South Korea, Samsung is already making betas available for S6 and S6 Edge users, but now the Galaxy Note 5 here in the States is getting the same treatment, at least on AT&T.
Right now select Note 5 users on AT&T are recieving email invitations to take place in this beta. This is a small scale test with about 200 people being included at this time. It’s unknown what exactly is qualifying users for the test or if Samsung and AT&T are planning to let more Galaxy Note 5 users join in.
It’s a bit unclear if the update includes any new features aside from those standard to Marshmallow (Google Now on Tap, Doze, etc). However it does appear that there are a few small UI changes including a white theme for the quick settings menu and a revamped lockscreen (seen below).
If you have gained access to this beta, the update weighs in at about 1.4GB in size and carries the build number MMB29K.N920AUCU2BPB1. The update even includes the latest February 1st security patch level which just rolled out to the Nexus line and the Blackberry Priv earlier this week.Via: SamMobile
