Huawei Unveils A New Smartphone And Tablet At CES
CES 2016 announcements are now in full swing which means that your news feeds are about to be overrun with CES coverage over the next few days. All of the tech companies that you’ve come to know and love, along with some that you’ve probably never heard of have begun to send out press releases and announcements left and right. One of those companies is newer to the US market, Huawei. They were very recently put on the map in the US smartphone market by their Nexus 6P smartphone that they made along with Google late last year.
Today Huawei has unveiled two new devices at CES, a new smartphone and tablet. The smartphone is being called the Huawei GX8, it is a 5.5-inch smartphone that apparently contains Corning Gorilla Glass 3 in the display. The device will also include an “industry leading” fingerprint sensor that Huawei touts as having a 94 percent unlock success rate. Another feature that Huawei seems to like about the device is that it has a 3000mAH battery. The GX8 will be available at Best Buy in the first quarter of this year.
Next up is the Huawei MediaPad M2 10.0. This is the new 10.1-inch tablet that Huawei has made with a full-metal body. The most important part of this device, the display, is a 10.1-inch, full HD IPS display. As for other specs of the device, the company is keeping quite about them right now, but they did say that the device will feature some great audio with Clari-fi Audio Restoration and SWS 2.0 Surround Sound. This all being tuned by Harman/Kardon. When the device goes on sale in the first quarter of this year, it will be available on two variants. There will be a 16GB variant with 2GB of RAM, this device will come in silver. Then there will be a 64GB variant with 3GB of RAM, which will come in gold. Both of which will also come with an ‘active stylus.’
