Possible OnePlus X Variant With Snapdragon 810 Certified In China

In terms of flagships for 2015, OnePlus didn’t score many fans with their OnePlus Two, but in the budget arena they struck a chord with their $249 OnePlus X. With a small 5” display and respectable specifications, it quickly caught on at the budget phone to beat. However now it looks like OnePlus may be planning to improve upon it.

A device carrying the model number One E1000 recently made its way through TENAA showing a device that looks extremely similar to the OnePlus X on the outside, but with updated specs under-the-hood. Rather than carrying the outdated Snapdragon 801 processor, this new device packs the powerful Snapdragon 810 as seen in the OnePlus 2 and Nexus 6P. The Adreno 430 GPU is also on board as is 3GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, and a microSD card slot for expansion. One of the best parts for many is the fact that the display comes in at just 4.9” with a 1080p resolution. That combined with the powerful processing package might just make this the phone to buy for those who have been craving smaller devices.

The camera on the rear is a 13MP shooter with an 8MP front facing camera. There’s alos the usual LTE bands, Bluetooth, Wifi, GPS, but no mention of NFC. The device lists Android 5.1.1 as it’s OS and considering OnePlus is bring Marshmallow to the OnePlus X and OnePlus 2 early this year, I wouldn’t doubt they’d have a quick update for this device as well.

Pricing, branding, and other details are unknown as of yet on this device. It’s unknown if it’ll even launch in the United States, but the announcement should fall early in this year so OnePlus can get ahead of their competition a bit.
