iPhone 6C Supposedly Launching Early Next Year

iPhone 6C Supposedly Launching Early Next Year
2 min read

The iPhone 5C was the first “budget” iPhone that Apple released and it was an proved quite successful among customers. The cheaper price tag combined with the bright color options of the 5C made it a very appealing choice, especially with the younger demographic. But despite the device’s success and popularity among customers, Apple did not continue the trend of a cheaper, more colorful iPhone option with the release of the iPhone 6 or 6S. With the latest rumors and leaks though, it is beginning to look like Apple will soon be releasing an iPhone 6C, an updated version of the iPhone 5C.

This information comes from sources within Foxconn, Apple’s manufacturing partner that assembles iPhones. They report that the iPhone 6C will go into production in January and then actually launch in April. This is around the same time that the iPhone 7 is supposedly going to launch next year as well, which makes sense as Apple will likely launch both the iPhone 7 and 6C at the same time.

Along with a supposed release date, sources from Foxconn are also reporting that the iPhone 6C will not look similar to the iPhone 6 or 6S. In fact, the 6C will oddly enough supposedly look more like the iPhone 5S and even contain the same 4-inch display and 8-megapixel camera as the iPhone 5S. Some other supposed specs of the iPhone 6C are a 1642mAh battery, Apple A9 processor, 2GB of RAM, and Touch ID. But perhaps the most important aspect of the iPhone 6C is its price tag, after all, it is a budget device. That price tag is rumored to be around $620, definitely cheaper than the current iPhones, but still rather expensive when compared to many other higher-end Android smartphones.
