Apple Updates All Their OSes In One Fell Swoop Today

It seems like Apple wants to make major moves today, after announcing their first battery case for the iPhone 6 and 6s, they have gone ahead and updated their total software profile as well. This includes El Capitan 10.11.2, iOS 9.2, watchOS 2.1, and tvOS 9.1, all being updated with new features and bug fixes.

El Capitan 10.11.2, which you can update via the Mac App Store, includes a number of improvements regarding: graphics, Mail, wi-fi, Calendar, USB, Notes, Photos, Spotlight, and networking. After several betas it’s nice to see that this update seems to be a rather major one. You’ll likely also need this update to use AT&T NumberSync feature for iPhones, which will also require iOS 9.2.

Speaking of which, iOS 9.2 is also available today for iPhones and iPads, which much of the update revolving around Siri and her sassy assistance — which she can now sass you in Arabic. iOS 9.2 also allows iPhones to use AT&T’s NumberSync feature which allows you to send and receive texts and phone calls with you other connected devices. Lastly, iOS 9.2 adds support for Apple’s new (and old) Lightning to SD Card Reader.

watchOS 2.1 is available and you’ll have to use the Apple Watch app to update your watch. The update follows the iOS update with having updates and new language support for Siri.

Lastly, tvOS 9.1 adds a ton of new features to the living room, media set-top box. Now owners will be able to control Apple Music via Siri and use the Remote app on iOS and watchOS to control the new Apple TV.
