LG Ray Announced For Emerging Markets With 5.5″ Display And Best In Class Cameras
LG has today officially announced the LG Ray, a 3G Android smartphone designed for emerging markets. It’s coming later this week to CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States) and to Latin America soon after. The Ray features a brushed metal design on it’s plastic body and it will be available in Silver, Gold, and Titan Black with the latter two coming in January. The phone also brings LG’s signature rear-mounted buttons.
The front of the LG Ray packs a 5.5″ display with a 720p resolution. Under the hood lies a 1.4GHz octa-core processor, a single GB of RAM, 16GB of internal memory, a microSD card slot, and a 3,000 MP battery. There’s also a 13MP rear camera and an 8MP front shooter. Android 5.1 Lollipop is available out of the box and from the press shots it seems LG may have ditched their skin in favor of something closer to stock Android, but we’ll have to get confirmation on that. LG does mention that many of the same camera features are still present.
No information on pricing has been announced as of yet however we should have more on that following the launch next week.
