Blackberry And Google Announce Partnership To Bring BES12 To Android Lollipop

Today Blackberry and Google suprised all of us with an announcement. They have announced a new, enterprise-focused partnership. Both Blackberry and Google are working together to bring Blackberry’s BES12 enterprise device service and new security features found in Android 5.0 Lollipop for increased mobile security and easier deployment of enterprise apps for Android devices. Below is what Blackberry has to say about the partnership:

New features are now available through Android and BES12 that enable organizations to further secure enterprise and personal data on Android devices, set new levels of hardware based encryption, and ensure tight integration with Google Play for Work, for increased application management, while delivering a consistent end-user and management experience across their Android fleet.

With recent rumors of an Android powered Blackberry device the announcement today might not be all that surprising for a lot of people. It’s no secret that Blackberry has been struggling for the past few years, but today’s announcement and the rumored Android powered Blackberry device could be just the game changer the ailing company has been looking for.
