Chromebook Sales Expected To Increase By 27% This Year

Gartner, has just published a new predictions report for Chromebooks and the news is pretty big. According to their research and estimates, Chromebooks as a whole are expected to increase by 27% over the next year. That’s a whopping 7.3 million Chromebooks.

The report shows that Google’s Chromebooks At Work will help to reach this number which makes sense seeing that Google has made many efforts in that area. Sales are also expected to pick up in the consumer market, but not as much. It’s clear that Google and Chromebook makers have to work on getting these numbers up.

Worldwide Chromebook sales to end users is on pace to reach 7.3 million units in 2015, a 27 percent increase from 2014, according to Gartner, Inc. Education is the primary market for Chromebooks and represented 72 percent of the global Chromebook market in 2014.

Gartner has also made predictions as to what quantities major regions will sell Chromebooks.
