Samsung Might Be Playing A Little Light On The Battery In The Galaxy S6

The Galaxy S6 is only a couple weeks away from being official and as we get closer more details about the phone are coming out. Most of what we’re hearing is good, but a new report from ITCLE is claiming that Samsung might be decreasing one critical component of the device, the battery.

The report claims that Samsung is going to shave 200mAh off the battery’s capacity bringing it down to 2,600mAh. That’s not a bad capacity, but it’s a little disappointing to see some of the battery capacity being taken away rather than added. There are a handful of reasons why this may be the case. First, Samsung might be allowing for a thinner, more compact design. Whether that trade-off is worth it is up to you though. Second it could be due to the new Exynos 7420 processor inside the device which will allegedly be efficient enough to allow the battery to get through the day.

So what are your thoughts? Would you have preferred that Samsung keep the same battery capacity on the S6 or do you think they’ll be able to get their users through the day on 2,600mAh?
