HP Announces Two New Compact Windows Desktops – Starting At $179

During CES 2015, HP has announced two new Windows PCs in a compact form factor. Similar to that of the Mac Mini and many Chromeboxes, these two machines are designed to take up less room on your desk and cut costs.

The first of these two machines is the HP Pavillion Mini. The machine comes with either an Intel Pentium 3558U processor inside or a higher end Core i3 4025U. 4GB of RAM are included in both, but can be upgraded up to 8GB. There are 4 USB ports, an SD card reader, ethernet, along with both an HDMI port and a Display port which allows for dual-monitors. The Pavillion Mini starts at $319.99.

The second option is the HP Stream Mini. This low-end option comes in the same hardware as the Pavillion Mini, but has swapped out the internals. Inside is the Intel Celeron 2957U processor with 2GB of RAM. The Stream Mini starts at $179.99.

Both machines have 32GB of storage and 200GB of OneDrive storage for two years. Both machines will be available direct from HP starting January 14th with a wider release following in February.
