Tons Of New Info For Pokémon Omega Ruby And Alpha Sapphire Revealed, Demo Incoming

For those worried that Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire wouldn’t be much of a step up from X and Y, it looks like that isn’t the case. A new trailer has come out showing of some of these new features and new details have appeared on the official site. There’s quite a bit to cover, so let’s get crackin’.

First up, the previously leaked Mega Evolutions of Latias and Latios found hidden in Pokémon X and Y’s code are confirmed to be in Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. Mega Latias and Mega Latios also will be key to a new feature never before used in a Pokémon game.

Now, by using the Eon Flute, players will be able to fly through the sky riding their Mega Latias/Mega Latios. You can encounter new areas and even battle flying Pokémon you find along your flight.

Special areas called Mirage Spots can also be found that let you find rare items and Pokémon, including Legendary Pokémon. Between X, Y, Omega Ruby, and Alpha Sapphire, you will be able to find and catch every Legendary Pokémon in the series to date. Unfortunately, these do not include Mythical Pokémon like Shaymin and Mew.

An updated version of Ruby and Sapphire’s PokéNav will also be introduced, dubbed PokéNav Plus. This will include several features separated into four categories called DexNav, AreaNav, BuzzNav, and PlayNav. PlayNav will be the hub for the features introduced in X and Y like Pokémon Amie and Super Training.

Mega Rayquaza now has official art and another round of Mega Evolutions have appeared. Mega Pidgeot and Mega Beedrill are official, whereas Mega Glalie and Mega Steelix have been confirmed in the Japanese demo.

Speaking of demos, players will be able to get their hands on a special code in the October issue of the Pokémon Trainer Club newsletter. If you sign up and opt in for emails before October 20th, you’ll receive the October issue and get your code. According to the site, this demo also has unlimited uses and encourages daily use for some special scenarios.

So now that we have the chance to get some hands-on, it’ll be nice to see some of the improvements Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire hopefully has. Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire will be releasing for the 3DS on November 21st worldwide with the exception of Europe, who will be getting it a week later.
