Super Smash Bros. For Wii U Drops Next Month With Amiibo In Tow

I’ve been having quite a bit of fun with Super Smash Bros. for 3DS in the process of reviewing it. As I play more and more of it, however, It’s been making me want the Wii U version to come even more. Now, it seems that the previously rumored release date has been confirmed.

Nintendo has announced that Super Smash Bros. for Wii U will be available on November 21st in North America and December 5th in Europe. The previously revealed GameCube controller and adapter will be available on launch for $29.99 and $19.99 respectively. You can also pick up both the controller and adapter bundled with the game for $99.99.

The NFC-figure series Amiibo will also be launching on the same day. The first twelve are Mario, Peach, Yoshi, Donkey Kong, Link, Fox, Samus, Wii-Fit Trainer, Villager, Pikachu, Kirby, and Marth. A second wave of Amiibos will be coming in December for both North America and Europe. They are Zelda, Diddy Kong, Luigi, Pit, Captain Falcon, and Little Mac.

Finally, those who have been waiting for this announcement can rejoice. Numbers on the 3DS version are currently tracking well, approaching 3 million units worldwide. It would be awesome to see Super Smash Bros. for Wii U succeed as well. As for what I think of Super Smash Bros. for 3DS, you’ll have to check out my review, which will (hopefully) be going up tomorrow.
