Nexus 6 Leaked Yet Again With Alleged Confirmed Specs – Shows Off New Parts Of Android 5.0

We’ve seen plenty of leaks about the Nexus 6 so far, especially over the past week or so. Many of the leaks have been very credible, but almost all with a level of leniency in them. Today though, Android Police has gotten their hands on what they say is the confirmed specifications list for the Nexus 6 and it’s pretty much what we expected.

The image below (full credit to Android Police) depicts what the leaked information reveals. The design is basically that of a gigantic 2014 Moto X. From the dual-front firing speakers to the aluminum trim around the sides. It’ll be good or bad depending on your view, but it certainly does seem that a 5.9″ inch Nexus 6 is coming. The specs are as follows.

  • 5.9″ Inch QHD Display
  • 3200 mAh Battery
  • 13MP Camera With Ring Flash
  • 2MP Front Facing Camera
  • Android 5.0

We don’t know for sure what processor will come inside of “Shamu”, but we expect a Snapdragon 801 or 805. The more interesting part of this leak to me at least is the software we see.

As mentioned earlier what is seen in the image above is simply a mockup, but it’s based on what Android Police has actually seen. We see a lot of elements seen in the Android L developer preview, but also a sneak peak of what all of Google’s apps will look like in Material Design. For one thing, the status bar has been refreshed. There are no longer breaks in the WiFi or cell signal indicators. We also seem tons of completely redesigned icons on the homescreen. From Google, to Play Music to the Play Store, everything has gone material. Interestingly there is also an icon for a messaging app that isn’t Hangouts on next to the dialer. Since SMS was merged with Hangouts, Google hasn’t been including the stock messaging apps on their devices any longer.

So, the question remains. Will you buy a 5.9″ inch Nexus? Personally, I’m on the fence. The specs are compelling, but 5.7″ inches is as far as I’ve ever been willing to go. Still, let us know your thoughts down in the comments and be sure to check out Android Police’s original post linked below for even more information. I didn’t want to steal too much of their thunder.
