Google Makes Android One Official For Indian Market
At I/O 2014, Google introduced a new program designed to focus on getting Android smartphones to the next 5 billion potential users. To do this, the company has launched Android One. This is a program which Google uses to help OEMs to deliver high quality smartphone experiences to low cost devices. Today Google has officially launched that by opening the program to the Indian market with three smartphones available at launch.
This first batch of Android One devices includes device from Karbonn, Micromax, and Spice. All three devices fall in between Rs 6,299 and Rs 6,499. All three devices pack the same spec package as well.

To sweeten the deal, Google has partnered with Airtel to assist any of their customers who purchase Android One devices. First of all, and updates will not count towards their data plans. Second, Google is providing 200mb of free data each month for downloading applications from the Google Play store.
Acer, Alcatel, OneTouch, ASUS, HTC, Lenovo, Panasonic, Xolo and more have also joined in on the Android One program to provide new handsets for it. Android One will be expanding to more countries next year. A full list is below.
