Apple Unveils 4.7″ Inch iPhone 6 And 5.5″ Inch iPhone 6 Plus – Full Pricing Information

After a long wait, and a ton of leaks, the iPhone 6 is finally official in two new flavors. The first is a 4.7″ inch iPhone 6. After a long wait (for some) Apple has increased the size of the first iPhones display to 4.7″ inches. That’s a pretty good jump in size as previous the largest was only 4 inches, pretty small by today’s standards. The second model is called the iPhone 6 Plus, a 5.5″ inch behemoth. Now lets go over the details.

The iPhone 6 has a 4.7″ inch, 1334×750 “Retina HD” display. That provides 326 pixels per inch, exactly as seen in the iPhone 5 and 5S. The display is “ion strengthened”, which is not the sapphire we were all expecting. I guess we’ll have to wait for the iPhone 6S for that. The device is the thinnest ever from Apple at a mere 6.9mm, almost a millimeter thinner than the iPhone 5S.

Before we go into further specifications, let’s talk a little about the iPhone 6 Plus. This model comes with a massive 5.5″ inch display with a resolution of 1920×1080. That’s 185% more pixels than the iPhone 5S. With a larger size comes a larger battery, and the iPhone 6 Plus is capable of a reported 24 hours of 3G talk time. This model is still very thin at only 7.1mm. Now let’s talk about what is the same about the two.

Powered by an A8 processor, the iPhone 6 can perform up to 25% faster than the A7 powered iPhone 5S. The battery inside is said to offer equal or better battery life than the iPhone 5S. In the connectivity department, the iPhone 6 is capable of LTE-A and available on most major carriers around the worst, except Sprint. WiFi 802.11AC is also finally available. The camera on the back is still 8MP, but the optics have once again improved including larger pixels. Video recording is now available in 1080p at either 30 or 60 frames per second. Slow motion is also now available in an impressive 240 frames per second option. NFC has also finally been added to enable mobile payments at over 22,000 retail locations including McDonald’s, Subway, Walgreens, Whole Foods, and of course Starbucks. Of course both of these phones comes with iOS 8 out of the box. Pricing is found below.
