Third Generation HP Chromebook 11 Picks Intel Bay Trail Over ARM

Third Generation HP Chromebook 11 Picks Intel Bay Trail Over ARM

HP’s Chromebook 11 was the pretty one of the market, but without the power to back it up. Nonetheless it sold well. However now in the third iteration of the machine, HP is giving the machine a major boost in power.

HP is marketing the Chromebook to the education market, a quickly growing portion of Chromebook sales. Since other Intel powered models have been flying past the Samsung Series 3 and HP Chromebook 11 models in performance, it makes sense that HP would ditch the aging Exynos processor in favor of the newer and much more powerful Intel Bay Trail processor.

On the outside, this Chromebook is mostly identical to the second generation HP Chromebook 11. On the inside, the device packs the standard specifications we expect now in Chromebooks. However one note is that this model does have the capability to use 4GB of RAM, a huge plus for anyone needing a little extra power.

  • 11.6″ Inch Display – 1366×768
  • 16GB SSD
  • 802.11ac/802.11n WiFi (Optional 4G LTE)
  • 1x USB 3.0 – 1x USB 2.0
  • HDMI
  • Headset/Mic Jack
  • Stereo Speakers
  • Bluetooth 4.0

Even though the display still isn’t 1080p, we can hope that HP will bring the IPS technology back in this model. Pricing and release dates are not yet known for this new model.
