Sprint No Longer Interested In Acquiring T-Mobile? – New CEO Instead?

We’ve heard countless rumors about Sprint acquiring T-Mobile, but could they have already given up on it? We’ve heard multiple times that the deal was being finalized and could be complete as soon as next month, but now reports are stating that Softbank, Spint’s parent company, could be pulling out of the deal.

Not too long ago, reports came out that French carrier Iliad would be coming in to take Sprint’s place, but that might not be why the company is pulling out. According to reports, it may be because it would be tough to get the deal past Federal regulators. The Justice Department and the FCC have already made their feelings clear in that they don’t want the wireless industry to become anymore consolidated.

To add on to that, it seems Sprint has a different trick up their sleeves. A new CEO. According to Bloomberg, the company is looking to replace their current CEO Dan Hesse with a new CEO. They are allegedly planning to make the announcement tomorrow. Rumors of the new CEO are going as far as John Legere, to a much more likely Marcelo Claure.
