Samsung Announces Galaxy W 7-inch Phablet

Samsung likes to push the boundries of what is generally accepted as the average phone. They played a major part in bringing the huge amount of “phablets” to mass market with their Note line. But last year the company tried to go even farther when they released their Galaxy Mega series of phablets. At 5.8″ and 6.3″ inches, these two devices really shocked us just from their massive size, but that wasn’t enough for Samsung.

Introducing the Galaxy W, a 7-inch phablet for Korea. The device brings respectable specifications that will satisfy the average user, but the main story here is the sheer size of the screen on the so-called “phone”.

  • 7″ inch 1280×720 Display
  • Quad-Core 1.2 GHz Processor
  • 1.5GB RAM
  • 16GB Storage
  • 3,200 mAh Battery
  • 8MP Rear Camera
  • 2MP Front Camera
  • Android 4.3
  • Black, White, Red Color Options

Of course this will most likely not see a wide release, and definitely won’t be hitting U.S. shores anytime, but it will definitely be a popular product for those who only want one device, but don’t want to give up the size of a tablet. The device is available now in Korea for 499,400 won.
