HP SlateBook 14 Revealed By HP – Notebook With Android And A Tegra Chip Under The Hood

Android has become something that fits to many different platforms. We’ve seen it on smartphones, tablets, TVs, and more. It’s even been on things as unexpected at the refrigerator! But one place it has yet to be successful, it the laptop computer. Many OEMs have tried to accomplish that feat and make it a popular product, but they have tried and failed. Now HP is trying to do it again, and so far, we like it.

Hello, World!

The yet to be announced HP Slatebook 14 was shown off on HP’s website with a full demo video (see below). The device has a 14 inch touch screen display which is expected to be 1080p, into a sleek design. The screen includes on-screen navigation which would usually imply that the device would be detachable or foldable to become a tablet, but that doesn’t appear to be the case from what we can see. Not all of the specs have been listed, but the video did reveal some of the most important.

  • Android 4.2 Jelly Bean
  • Quad Core Nvidia Processor (expected to be Tegra 4)
  • 14-inch 1080p (?) Touch Screen
  • microSD Card Slot
  • HDMI
  • 3 USB Ports (2.0?)
  • Beats Audio Speakers
  • Webcam
  • SIM Card Slot

The laptop’s design is quite simplistic but looks great. The keyboard featured on the device has keys specific to Android navigation such as Home and Recent Apps. This device is definitely coming but we have no idea when it might come.
