Twitch Plays Pokémon Finishes Pokémon Crystal

The appeal for Twitch Plays Pokémon seems to keep going, as the channel has now successfully beaten Pokémon Crystal. This time around it took a little over 13 days for Twitch to beat the game, which is remarkable considering that Crystal takes longer to beat than Pokémon Red. The game is officially completed when you beat the protagonist of the first game, named Red, on top of Mt. Silver.

As an added surprise, Red was not using the standard team that he normally would have in this battle, but the team that Twitch Plays Pokémon used to beat the first game. The final battle and end credits have been uploaded to Youtube if you want to check it out.

As for what’s next, the channel is still running, but is now playing various other games with a clock counting down to this Friday for starting Pokémon Emerald. As for how far the channel can continue with Pokémon games, it may be possible to keep it going into more recent titles if the chat program is compatible.
