Samsung Chromebook 2 Leaked – Faux Leather Back Makes An Appearance – Specs

The Chromebook market is constantly growing and more and more options are being released as time goes on. The model that helped kick things off, the Samsung Chromebook, is now up for an upgrade. The original Samsung Chromebook was a thin, good-looking, and budget conscious device. It’s price of a mere $249 drove people to the device and they still do to this day. It appears however that Samsung is getting ready to launch an upgrade to the device.

Early last week, pre-order pages popped up for the “Samsung Chromebook 2″ that showed us the possible prices and specifications for the upcoming Chromebook, but didn’t show us what the device would look like. We also saw that two models were incoming one with an 11.6″ screen and another with a 13.3″ screen. Prices were $299.99 and $399.99 respectively. The 11.6″ model was listed with 4GB of RAM, 16GB of SSD storage, and a Samsung Exynos 5 SoC. The 13.3” inch model didn’t have any associated spec list with it.

Then a couple days ago, @evleaks showed off on Twitter the faux leather design we saw on the Galaxy Note 3 but this time on a Chrome device. Assumptions were immediately made that this was the second generation Samsung Chromebook, but today, they have given us a picture of the full device. The faux leather made a second appearance and the picture also shows us some of the ports and the keyboard on the device. Seen in the picture is a design cue from the Acer C720 with the curved portion to allow for ports as well as a USB port and Mic/Headphone jack.

What do you think of this new Samsung Chromebook? Is it the one that will be right for you?
