34 Cities Might Be Getting Google Fiber Soon, Are You On The List?

Google Fiber is an amazing service promising gigabit Internet speeds, which is almost 100 times faster than what most of us have now. The problem with it however is that it’s only available in a few cities and grows slowly. Do you want it? Well Google might be coming to the rescue today announcing 34 new cities that they are considering for Google Fiber. The list follows below:

  • Arizona
    • Phoenix
    • Scottsdale
    • Tempe
  • California
    • San Jose
    • Santa Clara
    • Sunnyvale
    • Mountain View (there’s a shock)
    • Palo Alto
  • Georgia
    • Atlanta
    • Avondale Estates
    • Brookhaven
    • College Park
    • Decatur
    • East Point
    • Hapeville
    • Sandy Springs
    • Smyrna
  • North Carolina
    • Charlotte
    • Carrboro
    • Cary
    • Chapel Hill
    • Durham
    • Garner
    • Morrisville
    • Raleigh
  • Oregon
    • Portland
    • Beaverton
    • Hillsboro
    • Gresham
    • Lake Oswego
    • Tigard
  • Tennessee
    • Nashville-Davidson
  • Texas
    • San Antonio
  • Utah
    • Salt Lake City

If you’re city is on that list don’t get too excited, it’s not confirmed that you will definitely get Fiber. Google is simply saying that they want to give customers their the option but keep in mind that they still need to work it out with city officials. Even if your city doesn’t get Fiber right away though, the fact that Google is considering your area might still be a good thing because it coud encourage providers in the area to do better.
