Glasses Free 3D Tablet Released
Over the past few years we seen several devices with glasses free 3D screen technology in them. We saw a couple smartphones with this technology including the HTC Evo 3D and the LG Optimus 3D. Unsurprisingly neither phone did very well and that’s why we haven’t see anymore phones with that technology since then. The questions stands though, could a 3D tablet do better?
The recently released 8-inch tablet uses a parallax barrier, the same technology used in the Nintendo 3DS, to create the 3D effects. Just like the 3DS, you need to be looking at it in the right position to enjoy the effect. The 3D effect can be turned on and off and the software even changed 2D images into 3D when the effect is turned on.
The screen measures 8 inches across with a 1280×800 resolution. The processor inside the device is completely unknown but it does have 16GB of internal memory, a microSD card slot, Bluetooth, and apparently comes with a wireless keyboard case too. Unfortunately you won’t be seeing KitKat on this tablet but instead 4.1 Jelly Bean. You also get an unimpressive 2MP Rear Camera (that does not shoot in 3D) and a 0.3MP Front Camera up front.
The price for all this is $350 so unless you really really enjoy 3D, you are probably going to skip this one over since for that price you could get the much more powerful LG G Pad 8.3. If you do want to experience glasses-free 3D on your tablet you can pick this tablet up and it will begin shipping just before the end of the year.
