Wooden Moto X Still Coming According To Motorola CEO
When the Moto X was first introduced customization was heavily emphasized, for good reason. Available in hundreds on color combinations the Moto X was already very appealing, but one option caught everyone’s attention, wooden backs. Motorola uses a few different materials for their phones from plastic to kevlar, but wood is by far the most unique. In a recent interview with Marques Brownlee (MKBHD), Dennis Woodside, the CEO of Motorola, confirmed that wood back options are “coming soon”. He stated that he couldn’t say anything specific about expected launch dates because the company is still exploring some options with the materials.
@evleaks also posted today an image of the Verizon Moto X with a wooden back. In all caps they tell us clearly that “THEY ARE STILL COMING”. We don’t know exactly when Motorola will introduce these wooden backs but we can expect it sometime in the coming months.
