How To Transfer Files From Android To Any Device Through WiFi

If you’re like me you’ve probably been in the spot of wanting to transfer a file to your computer or tablet from your phone but you didn’t have the right cord, and that’s never a fun place to be. Luckily there’s an easy way to transfer files from your Android device to not only your computer, but any device with a web browser using your WiFi connection.

The first thing you’ll need to do is ensure that both device are connected to the same WiFi router. This also works if one device is running a hotspot. For this example my Windows 7 PC will be running a hotspot and my Galaxy Nexus will be connected to it.

Next you will need to download WiFi File Explorer from either Google Play or the Amazon App Store. This app is free but some of it’s features are not available in the free version. For $0.99 you can unlock these features.

After you have downloaded the app simply open it and the connection will be opened. On your Android device’s screen you will see an IP address that you need to type into your browser on the other device.

With the free version of the app you can transfer files from your Android device to another device but you can’t go the other way, that is a part of the Pro version.
